A physical therapist was giving me exercises to strengthen my injured back (lumbar) about 15 years ago and he said “you should try yoga”. Anyone can do yoga and benefit from it in ways unknown until layers are peeled off to reveal your true self

  3. I’ve toyed with the idea of becoming a yoga instructor, because the benefits would be mutually rewarding to myself and others. Yoga has so many different avenues that it offers continuous study and practice that can last a lifetime. I understand that the market is both saturated with individuals wanting to teach yoga and that there is little money to be made unless one goes corporate. The competition may be tight, but if yoga can supplement one’s lifestyle and income then that might be the best we can hope for in this field especially in poor economic times like these. What are your thoughts and experience in the matter?

    • Thank you for the comment and question. Obviously you understand the complexities and depth of yoga. My thoughts are that we’re all on our own path and mine has lead me to yoga which has been very therapeutic in many ways. I believe in trying to create balance in all aspects of our lives which is a constant challenge in today’s society. I’m working in two different fields part time and this allows me that balance. You’re right about all the different avenues offered which leaves room for finding which path is the right fit for your personality. As far as supplementing one’s income it depends on your definition of lifestyle because it’s different for everyone. I’ve found it can supplement my income but the balance it offers me far out weighs the financial gain.
